Molecool is an online Internet chemistry game for up to four players. The rule of the game is simple: In competition with other players you have to catch atoms, build molecules and answer chemistry-related questions.
In the game you will be dealt Molecule-cards with the chemical formula or the name of a molecule. To build a given molecule you have to catch atoms from the game board and put together the right amount of atoms for that molecule. If you manage to build a molecule, it will appear as a three-dimensional model. You can rotate this model with your mouse. You will also be able to test your knowledge of chemistry in the "Double or Quits" quiz session. The higher the difficulty level you choose, the more points you gain.
While playing the Molecool game you can even chat with you opponents. Send each other comments, questions and small notes!
This is Molecool version 2 which is already translated into eight other languages; Norwegian, German, French, Danish, Swedish, Slovenian, Portuguese and Lapp. When we have been able to publish all these languages on the Internet, players from different countries can compete against each other in their own language – and find a common language for chatting. We are currently working on the educational content. Some of the material is translated and published already, and within a short period of time, two – three hundred new questions will be available in nine different languages. New material will continuously be available and even new languages will hopefully occur before long.
