The aim of the Molecool game is to catch atoms, build molecules and answer chemistry-related questions to gain more points than your opponents. But before you can start doing this, you have to log into the game and find someone to play with:
- Click on the green Atomic man and wait a few seconds to enter the game.
- Log in by writing your first name, your surname and class. You are free to choose whether you want to use a password or not.
- There have to be at least two participants to play Molecool. In the Match-making Room you will find your opponents by participating in a waiting game or by creating a new game yourself.
- When a Waiting game exists, you can click on [Join in!] and wait for the person who created the game to start it. (Only the “creator” can start a game.)
- If you choose to create a new game, you have to click on the [Create game]-button and select educational content, time limit and difficulty level. Before you can start your game you will have to wait until one or more players signs on to participate.
You are now on the Molecool game board
This is where your Atomic man must catch atoms in order for you to build molecules and answer Double or Quits questions. Each player has a limited number of jumps and a certain period of time before the next player takes over.
- You must clear your home area of atoms before you can enter the main board.
- On the main board you can move around freely to catch as many atoms and Magic-cards as possible.
- Your atoms are placed in the Storage bin and you can move them to your Factory to build molecules.
- You build molecules by double clicking on the Molecule-cards. You must have the right atoms for a molecule in your Factory to win it.
- Once you have built one molecule you can enter the Double or Quits quiz session by jumping into the well in the game board center.
- In the Double or Quits quiz you first choose a difficulty level and then answer the question.
- When the time is up, the player with the highest score is the winner.
